Brief Advice please - Excel Parking driver admissions

Hi, apologies in advance, I have tried to self-help but can I get some direction please? I
have read the newbies thread a few times but I am confused and keep following threads and looping back on myself
In a nutshell...
Can I confirm my assumptions are correct in terms of next steps:
Is that correct?
I have done lots of searches and am a little confused as some here have appealed to POPLA with a PCN from Excel parking however I'm not sure how as they don't give a 10 digit verification code. What am I missing?
Thank you in advance
have read the newbies thread a few times but I am confused and keep following threads and looping back on myself
In a nutshell...
- I received a parking ticket from Excel Parking Services, County House, Nottingham
- I did pay via app but used my old number plate in error which was stored in the app (same car/new personalised plate)
- I stupidly followed their process and appealed admitting being the driver, showing my proof of payment and explained what happened - I understand this was an act of muppetry now
- My appeal was rejected
- They are giving option to 1. Pay or 2. IAS
Can I confirm my assumptions are correct in terms of next steps:
- I wish to assert major keying error in my defence as I did pay the required charge
- I cannot go to POPLA as Excel will not give me a 10 digit verification code (they appear to be a BPA member, but told me my only option is IAS)
- I shouldn't both with IAS as no point
- Next step is court
Is that correct?

Excel are IPC AOS members and appear under E on the IPC AOS members list, so nothing to do with the BPA, or the BPA CoP, or Popla as contracted to the BPA, but allegiance is to the IPC, the IPC CoP version 9 and the IAS ADR options instead
The fact that most parking companies, including Excel, are BPA corporate members is irrelevant, different logos for each option , one for corporate membership, a different one for AOS membership, 2 different things
So no compliance with the BPA CoP version 9 and no Popla either
You should check the memorandum that the IPC produced it wrote about getting keying errors sorted, Plus see what is mentioned about major keying errors in the IPC CoP version 9 too

The IAS may be worth it for a major keying error, subject to my advice to do the research first
Excel were BPA AOS members until around 2015 , so the threads you read must be older
Ps , Excel are at Europa View , Sheffield, not Nottingham3 -
Brill, thank you so much for the clarity. Older threads could well explain why I'm looping without it making sense
I will check the IPC and then move forward from there. Thanks again for the heads up2 -
Check 9.3 and 15.7 in the CoP v91

Use this case:
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

So , vindication of de minimis in these cases ( payment made, no loss to the operator, the money they sought for parking was made. )even better that its the same Claimant 😁
I suspect that the order above included the typos and meant de minimis. ?3 -
Yes, it will be a typo by the court staff.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

@Sha_dy - have a look at my almost identical case that I'm little further down the road with against the mouthbreathers that are Excel/VCS...
VCS Missing Reg PCN, IAS Appeal and Court Claim — MoneySavingExpert Forum
My case was finally allocated to the court of my choosing yesterday.
Only thing I would personally suggest is that if I were in the same situation again, I'd still open up a case with the IAS knowing that it's a waste of time. The reason is that on opening an appeal, Excel/VCS had to upload a load of of 'evidence' in support of their claim. Unfortunately for them, they unwittingly uploaded photos and diagrams which directly and specifically proves the points of contract law in which they have subsequently used in their filing with the court as being incorrect/false/bare lies (nevermind the fact that like you and other similar cases, I paid the required sum!). Also, it causes them a bit of work so in my mind, that's a win
Drop me a line if you have any specific questions regarding my case.2
