in Water bills
Hi,
I have not had a water meter on my house, out of choice. Which I will now be changing due to the price I'm paying.
However, I have recently found out from discussing with others who live near by including my neighbour (who lives in an identical house with more bathrooms than myself). That I have been paying nearly double others. I wondered if there was a way to dispute the amount I have paid historically and claim what I have overpaid?
Thanks!

Thanks! What is there to dispute? You have been paying the rates they determine appropriate for your property based on its rateable value around 1990. So, unless you believe your rateable value is wrong, you have little chance of getting it changed. I pay around double what my neighbours do - they are on a meter and I am not. My choice, as unmetered costs are invariably more than metered ones. I just like to know how much I'll be paying over the year, and don't want to be concerned if the grandchildren are here and want to have fun in the paddling pool.BTW, welcome to the forum!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards.
