UC/Home Education

Options
I applied for UC with 3 children and added all 3 children I have gone back to my application and it clearly says 3 children. I have received my statement and UC have knocked of 1 of my childs. I have left a message to UC journal under payments. The child they have knocked off for some reason is 15 years old.

I am know trying to add 3 rd child on again in change of circumstances as in this section I only mentions 2 children. But UC are know asking name of child's education establishment, how many hours he is studying a week, and start date of course. But UC did not ask me these questions when I did the actual application.

The issue is that the child is home educated and I don't know what to put also will UC pay for him because he is home educated do they recognise  home education?

Thank you

not directly relevant to your question, but could this go towards explaining the reason why only two children are mentioned ?

These questions seem to be for a child 16 or over.
    When is he 16?

Are you migrating from tax credits to UC?

He is 15 years old yes migrating over from tax credits.

When I added him during the initial application UC didn't ask me but they then removed him saying that I only have 2 children.

I vaguely remember a query about your ex-partner and yourself splitng the child benefit (and/or the care components) for your children. Is it possible that they have added that child to a claim, or not removed them yet?

Is this the thread thy were referring to?
    Child benefit — MoneySavingExpert Forum

Are you paid Child Benefit for your 15 year old?

If yes, then it could be that there has been some mix up with the administrative side of changing the CB into your name, hence your 15 year old would not be a qualifying child and not part of your UC claim.

Yes I am in receipt of child benefit for the 15 year old. He is compulsory school age the question UC are asking is question they probably ask post 16.

I left a message on my journal yesterday but no response yet I hope they sort it out as I am £775 short.

Suspect that UC could not verify Child connected to you, using available records.

For the child not included, take to local Job Centre Childs passport or birth certificate together with letter from Doctor or school confirming you as primary parent contact.  And before you go to Job Centre report change under Children and other people who live with you.

For Children being home schooled, UC will only include them until end of August after their 16th birthday.
