You should start your own thread if you need to ask questions otherwise it can become confusing answering two posters on the same thread; of course, if you just want to comment, carry on.

My case is now being dealt with by ‘trace debt recovery’ on behalf of UKPS Ltd, they have escalated it to their solicitor etc. I’ve had my 5th letter now chasing the fine and threatening court.

Trace Debt Recovery is not an escalation, it isn't a "fine" and court is just what you said a "threat"!

    Yep it hasn't escalated.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Hi,
My son, driving my car, fell into this same trap in April 2022, for a 13 min stop fetching a McDonalds. The claim is ‘non-customer in customer only car park’. I initially ignored them, then got letters from their solicitor, then debt collector. I eventually responded with a letter setting out why I thought it unreasonable, maybe 6 months later. Then it went quiet, so I thought I’d won.
However, now I’ve had a succession of letters from another debt collectors, ‘Moorside Legal’, and today they’ve issued a ‘Letter of Claim’, which I think is a step before court summons.
Is it known whether they will take it to court? It’s getting a bit close for comfort, and I don’t want my credit rating to be affected…
Is there any way of finding this out? Maybe court records?
Feels like I’m playing legal chicken….

Agreed but it won't be a summons you receive.
