CAR FINANCE FIASCO
Good afternoon,
I would like a manager to get back to me ASAP regarding this complaint.
I was advised by Daniel by text on Tuesday 12/06 that my finance application had been FULLY APPROVED with Lendable LTD, I also recieved and email from yourselves stating my application had changed from Pre Approved to Approved.
I went to collect my new car yesterday at Garrowhill Car Sales in Glasgow.
I called Daniel from the dealership to advise I was happy with the car and he was going to release the funds with the finance company.
I left the dealership with my new car, returned home and had 3 missed calls from Kirk at Car Finance R US advising me I had to return to the dealership 'immediately' as the dealership had called to say something was mechanically wrong with the car.
I called the dealership to be told this was a LIE and that Kirk had phoned them panicking as the finance company did not release the funds due to me failing a hard credit search!!!!!
I am absolutely livid that such a monumental mistake has made, why was I advised by Daniel I had been Fully Accepted and why on earth were these checks not carried out in the first place?
I am also beyond angry that I was lied to on the phone by Kirk to get me back to the dealership.
This is completley unacceptable and extremely unprofessional.
The embarrassment and inconvenience of this has caused me alot of anxiety over the last 24 hours and this morning I had to take time away from my work ( which I wont be paid for) to return the car to the dealership due to the incompetence of your staff.
I spoke to Kirk this morning who solely blamed the finance company.
This is Car Finance R US error and not the Lendable LTD.
You gave me and the dealership the wrong information, leaving me to leave the dealership with a car I didnt even have finance for!!!!!
I would like to be compensated for this as I also paid for the tax for the vehicle and updated my car insurance to the new car which was more than my previous car before I picked up the car yesterday.
The dealership Garrowhill Car Sales are also very angry with this situation and in 30 years of trading have never had anything like this happen, they were asked by Kirk at Car Finance R US to call me and LIE saying something was wrong with the car, which they flat out refused to do, they have stated they will never deal with Car Finance R US again.
I want a reply by Tuesday 18th June, I will also be taking this matter further.

Sounds a mighty screw up. I think you will need to quantify your losses to claim for compensation, they might add a small gesture of good will on top. If they have a formal complaint process then you need to follow this.

Lendable LTD advised me I had a CIFAS alert on my credit file with Transunion and Equifax and that is why finance was declined.
I have checked my credit file with all 3 major credit file companies Transunion, Experian and Equifax and I have no CIFAS alerts.
When I asked Lendable if they could explain how they saw CIFAS alert on my file when there are NONE they saud they could give me no more information.
I see from the other response below that Car Finance R US are to pass the blame to the finance company Lendable LTD.
Car Finance R US are the ones in the wrong by advising me by TEXT that I was FULLY APPROVED for finance and an email stating my application had changed from PRE APPROVED to APPROVED.
At this stage ALL checks including hard credit search should have been carried out which they clearly had not been and this is why I was allowed to leave the dealership with a car that the finance had NOT been approved on.
An absolute shambles from start to finish and extremely stressfull and embarrassing for me.

CIFAS alerts do not always show on credit reports.
As Car Finance are only a broker, they do not do hard checks. This is clear on their site.
You will need to do a SAR to CIFAS to find out just what the marker is.Life in the slow lane2
