I can't see who is paying money into a JISA

Options
My daughter opened a Nutmeg Junior ISA 2 years ago, on my advice, for my grandson.
I pay into it by standing order each month with additional lump sums for birthday and Christmas.
I have provided the details of the JISA to other extended members of the family so they can pay into it if they wish.
Several lump sum payments have been made into the JISA account ( in addition to my own) and my daughter has no way of knowing who has made them. This is embarrassing as she does not wish to ask people if they’ve given money or request that they notify her whenever they do so.
She has asked Nutmeg to identify the source of the contributions but has been told they cannot do so.
I have checked with Moneyfarm and Vanguard to see if they would disclose this information in relation to future payments if my daughter transferred the JISA to them but both say they would not because of DPA.
I am endeavouring to find a JISA provider who will identify the source of future payments if my daughter arranges an ISA transfer.
I don't know if this is a common problem with investments or is just because it is a Junior ISA. I am the only person who pays into my own investment accounts so I've not encountered it before.

My guess would be that the only way you could know is if the reference attached to the payment was obvious - like Brie123456 or similar.  Otherwise I would think it would be a data protection issue and would apply to all accounts.

You provided the details to the extended family already. Why not send a similar message to everyone saying that she doesn't get notified of who has given something, and if they want a confirmation that the money has been received, can they just let her know when they make a payment? People can then tell her or choose to remain anonymous as they wish.

I agree she should just tell the group she can see contributions but don't know who they are from but thank you. If people want to do it without telling anyone that's a nice problem to have and I wouldn't do anything to discourage them. As long as Nutmeg are keeping her informed of the remaining annual allowance it's probably fine.

However Nutmeg are expensive so it might be worth looking at Fidelity or HL who charge no platform fee on JISAs and where you can get a multi-asset fund such as one from the HSBC Global Strategy series which would cost roughly the same as the funds that Nutmeg use.

However (again) it's worth checking with those free (or low cost such as Vanguard) providers how easy it is for friends or family to make contributions. Last time I looked Fidelity wanted a paper form completed each time but that may have improved. HL seem to have a special JISA webpage for friends and family topups so might be best choice.

I pay money into my grandchildren's Vanguard ISAs every year and, whilst I know that the parents get notified, I'm not sure how much info they are given (we are the only people likely to subscribe).
