I inherited a holding in a USA corporation about 40 years ago. The registrar is Equiniti in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
(1)What secure method of sending the certificates with my sale instructions do you recommend? (2)Equiniti recommends insuring the package for 5% of the value - how do I go about that, please?

If you're considering sending valuable paperwork across the pond, you might find it more cost-effective to transfer the shares into a low-cost UK broker and then sell them from there?

X-o won't work for this one, "Please note that you cannot buy or hold overseas shares or unit trusts in an X-O account" and US certificates are a different beast and require a medallion stamp to enable their transfer which means most UK brokers won't touch them.eskbanker said:If you're considering sending valuable paperwork across the pond, you might find it more cost-effective to transfer the shares into a low-cost UK broker and then sell them from there?
