How to get old US paper share certificates online

Does anyone know to use get my paper share certificates for a US company, that I used to work, into an online account?
I tried using an eTrade account (that's linked to some RSUs I have for my current company) that I have through work but they wouldn't allow me to create a trading account as I'm not a US citizen.
I tried H&L, who I have a pension with, but they will only allow the import of UK shares.

Interactive Brokers perhaps? There's an old 2018 TiM article where Remayne Bentley says it can do it, and it can also obtain a US medallion stamp for you - that would be your next problem.PlatinumConsultant said:Does anyone know to use get my paper share certificates for a US company, that I used to work, into an online account?

I am in a similiar position, and considering talking to Redmayne. How did you get on with them? Or have you sort any alternatives?PlatinumConsultant said:Thanks for your detailed response!

You may be able to sign up for the company’s direct registration scheme, if it has one, with its registrar (often Computershare or Equiniti US). Once you have an account you should then be able to send them the paper certificates for conversion to electronic registration and then sell them according to the terms of the plan or scheme.0
