Hi, I am not very tech savvy and I am looking for an inexpensive or free software package to print off/resize/ simple editing of photographs. I am not wanting to edit videos or produce anything very complicated. Any suggestions gratefully received. Thanks!

Apologies for the delay in replying, sometimes work becomes all consuming. I am printing from a PC on Windows 10 operating system and printing to a Canon Ink Jet printer. Grateful for any advice. Thanks.

hi, if you go to ashampoo website and click on free there are a few photo programs you can get there, have used a few in the past and are good.
basic resizing etc then i use irfanview which again is basic but good.1 -
What format at the photos in? I don't think you should have to pay anything as Windows includes a number of free programs that should work. The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.1

What software came with the printer? It should be enough to enable basic manipulation and printing, say paper size, paper quality, choose paper tray, single/double sided printing, photo size, orientation etc.2

Depending on how much you want to be editing, one of these https://filterpixel.com/blog/posts/6-free-awesome-lightroom-alternatives-in-2023for-mac-and-windows/#:~:text=Photoshop Express is a free,at a time, unlike Lightroom.
or if you want even more control them something like Gimp.1 -

Having tried most of them over the last few years, frankly they were anything but "amazing"!
I am not saying they are useless, in fact they may well be perfectly adequate for basic needs.
However Adobe has by far the lion's share of the professional (and keen amateur / enthusiast) market for a reason.1 -
Having looked at the article you linked I was amazed at the number of times it used the word "amazing", in fact I think they pronounced everything they suggested to be "amazing"!1

Thanks for everyone's suggestions will investigate all your ideas and see which suits me best.
