FIXTURES WHEN BUYING

Fixings are mainly recognised as needed elements. i.e. lights/bulbs, toilets, cabinets, sinks, showers etc.
Unless you clearly outline you want A,B,C included in the fixings list then they shouldn't be expected.
Just because something is screwed into a wall doesn't make it a fixing!1 -
Thank you so much everybody. This all got off to a bad start when the vendor decided to conduct the viewing so the agent wasn't there. He then emailed her to make out I wanted to offer buy the furniture etc. I hadn't said anything of the sort. He wanted a lump sum and was expecting 75% of the £20,000 he'd paid for it ie £15,000! Beware.

Beware.A deluded person!Or, perhaps they like their own style sooo much, they think other folk will pay a premium for itBut, nuts. They do sound like folk who could take the hump, tho', so if you try the 'no thanks', route, good chance they'll crawl over broken glass to get rid of it all just to spite you.So, 'measured' offers for anything you do want - but keep it cheap.JP's comment above makes sense, so even tho' this desk is bespoke and relies on the wall for support, it ain't an essential component, so it's likely debatable whether it's really a 'fixture'; you certainly wouldn't consider going 'legal' over it. :-)For anything you want to keep on a temporary basis, a good approach is to look up Facebook Marketplace, and see what the nearest equivalent of these items are going for. Then add or subtract depending on how much you like this one...£15k! My hairy a....0

Guess what everybody the seller's just pulled out! That's left me with a solicitor's and surveyor's bill for nothing. Thanks for your help. At least I've learnt something from this.1
