I turned 40 and my PIP stopped completely, but my ESA increased by 100 pounds, what happened?

Can you tell me as a guess what has happened?
So instead of my 500 pound PIP I got an odd JSA payment of 400 pounds and that was the last extra payment I got.
But ESA payments have continued and even gone up by 100 pounds
But im still down lots of money while I get 200 extra pounds per month I lose 500 aka 300 pounds
Yea so can anyone hazard a guess as to what has happened, has PIP been abolished?

No one will be able to tell you what’s happened,
No PIP has not been abolished. Contact them to find out what has happened. Have you had a review recently?
What sort of JSA are you on?

I havnt had a review for a long time , I was wondering if its because I turned 40 or because there's a change in policy in 2024 or something like that
I have received PIP for about 2 years , does it usually end after 2 years?
Why didnt the ESA end when the PIP ended isnt that a bit odd?

7 years of PIP maybe rather

On your original PIP assessment it would have had a reassessment date, this is not set in stone. You would have had a new questionnaire sent to you and undergone a review assessment. Because of the backlog there is a delay on reassessments.WobbyJello said:

If you failed to comply with the reassessment then potentially that may close your PIP (Someone with more knowledge would confirm this) but even with no questionnaire the assessment can still take place.

Does anyone know why my PIP would end but my ESA has not and even increased?0

Call them....PIP... in the time it takes to get facts we could waste valuable time giving you flawed guesses, and begging you for more information, that serve you no use whatsoever.
Note sometimes ESA payments can be referenced JSA on bank statements on occasions.. I understand in particular if they're manually sent. (So you may need to call ESA too to understand the payments confusion you have).

JSA and ESA use the same underlying computer systems at DWP, so I think payments may be tagged as JSA rather than ESA on a bank statement, at least for the occasional ad-hoc adjustment or manual payment.WobbyJello said:

Any best guess is not going to get you PIP reinstated or tell you the issue.
If you health is stopping you calling them, then ask family/fried to call them with you around to confirm you want them to talk for you.Life in the slow lane1
