Super Quiet washing machine advice

If the issue is your floor not being level, a new machine won't necessarily help with the noise.1

precisely, thank you. . exactly why I'm here the specs don't seem to tally with "super quietAlbermarle said:
My Siemens machine is reasonably quiet as well, but the spec still says max 72DB and I checked a couple of Miele ones and they were also around 70, so from the specifications of the max DB, it is probably difficult for the OP to judge exactly how they perform in reality.Silvertabby said:Can't quote technical data, but my Miele is MUCH quieter than my previous Bosch. Barely hums, even in spin mode.
What's your Siemens model please

My Samsung is super quiet. I had a Bosch which claimed to be the quietest on the market, it wasn’t !1

Go with somthing that has inverter drive, it will be much quieter than conventional machines.I have a hotpoint NSWM845CWUKN and during the normal wash phase its very quiet.I dont think you will find a quiet machine during the spin though, my hotpoint advertises 76DB....

Thanks, yes I just looked at Inverter Motors and they seem to be in the now expensive units. And you're right, I've noticed from specs of navy units I've looked at online, that spin noise is around 70db. I suppose i don't mind that really, it's only on a few minutes at high spin but mine is an old brush motor with belt and concrete block. the cables holding the block are loose but no way to tighten. the drum wobbles consequently, and the motor whines, loud when washing and pumping, plus it's 6yr old and was in the house when i moved in 2 years ago so its had 4yrs of someone's sweaty !!!!!! inside. Hence I'm just going to buy a new one.sk2402005 said:Go with somthing that has inverter drive, it will be much quieter than conventional machines.I have a hotpoint NSWM845CWUKN and during the normal wash phase its very quiet.I dont think you will find a quiet machine during the spin though, my hotpoint advertises 76DB....
My friends wife suggested hers....a AEG 7kg LF7E7431BI , she claims it's silent.0 -
yes i looked at some bosch units, one would imagine they are top dollar being bosch, but it doesn't seem so. also limited in programs flexibility, i prefer to chose .my own temp and spin rather than key the machine decide.koalakoala said:My Samsung is super quiet. Just some comments.
We decided to replace our perfectly functioning 'standard' (not built in) Bosch WM, for a quiet - inverter model.
Yes, the motor was quieter during wash cycles, but the 'splash splash splash' of the clothes being rotated wasn't any quieter than before.
Also, although the spin cycle noise was less, the spin wasn't as efficient as the previous model (both had the same 1400 spin speed) - clothes came out less dry and more creased than before. (My shirt sleeves come out pleated!)
The moral is: you should be careful what you wish for. You might get an improvement in some aspects but suffer a loss elsewhere.
