I did look at Argos but was put off by this in the Consumer rights forum https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6533394/argos-wont-pick-up-refund-my-faulty-item/p1Might just be a one off but it did make me have second thoughts.

I've bought a few laptops from Laptops Direct. They've been good on the sales side. Last time I bought I ordered the laptop on the website and someone called to talk through what I'd chosen and why. I didn't get any pressure to buy anything, they seemed to just be checking that I had picked something suitable. I guess it's to reduce returns.I'm not sure what the support is like.1
