I contacted Invesco perpetual as i had managed to forget about an investment i made in 1995 of £6000. I subsequently changed address in 2001. I have spoken to them on the phone and via email. There response is always that because it more than 6 years ago they cant find it because it has been sols or transfered. I know i haven't done that. I have the contract note with all the details but they say it has changed and they are unable to help. Surely this can't be right?

It is nearly 20 years since the first Peps were introduced and it is coming up for seven years since the last was sold. During this time, the aim of the fund that a Pep is invested in may have changed and the fund manager could have been replaced two or three times. At the very least, savers should be reviewing their holdings.
The above was printed in 2008 so make that "nearly twenty years" more like 38 years.
Below might be worth a try.

I've no idea if this will help or not. particularly as I my have some of the names misremembered and my knowledge and interest in the subject matter was far less then, than it is now, but here goes.I invested some money in a PEP round about 1997 and over the years due to mergers and takeover the title has changed and at different times has included Invesco, Perpetual and I believe Jupiter. As I said, I took very little interest in it, but eventually I ended up with an account with Shareview, which subsequently became part of Interactive Investor. The earliest document in my ii account is from June 2017 and the investment is called Perpetual Income and Growth Investment Trust Plc Ord 10p. In December 2020 it became Murray Income Trust Plc Ord 25p and in March 2021 Murray Income TrustI hope this helps in some way.
