Hi All,
I used Martin's form to put a claim in for the car PPI finance way back and had an email acknowledging receipt of my claim but nothing since. In early April I received an email asking for me to sign to complete my claim from MG Financial. I haven't yet signed as I don't recall asking them to act on my behalf to see about PPI claim for the car. They are a no win, no fee company and will charge 20% plus VAT if I win anything. My thoughts are scammers but just want to be sure as not heard anything since I used Martins form to put in a claim.

Many thanks for your help

As yet FCA has not made a decision on this. That is due at some point in Sept.
Request this to be moved to the correct section.

PPI has finished apart from the mopping up of pre-deadline complaints.   So, you shouldn't sign up with a CMC as it sounds rather dodgy if they are looking to put a PPI complaint in now.

Believe it or not some law firms are still issuing and being successful with PPI all these years later. The courts were not affected by the FCA deadline. Most would also assume you are out of time to claim but two key appealed / supreme court decisions (I forget the names, Smith and RBS?) went in favour of complainants which has meant the date of knowledge is the date of disclosure of the commission percentage and amount which hugely extends the timescale. You can claim directly if you are confident with money claims in the courts, or you could research a decent law firm and use them. I can’t see that MG are a trustworthy firm and wouldn’t recommend you interact with them. If its a CMC or lead generation company they will just pass you on to a law firm once signed up so if you’re going to use one better to pick yourself.
