No doubt another hour on the phone like it was trying to set up my debit card for on-line use.

I got another email telling me I hadn't met the criteria this month, this time because I hadn't paid in the £1,000 minimum. I had paid in £1,600 over the calendar month, but I've just been told that the "qualifying period" runs from the 10th of each month to the following month. This can't be right as the qualifying period is defined as a "full calendar month" clearly in their terms and conditions. I've asked them to double-check because if that's the case, their terms are misleading at the very least! So much hassle with this offer, it's really not worth it!0

So it turns out that the Co-op system is set up to track the £1,000 deposit from the 10th onwards, and the customer service team were answering queries on this basis until they got a lot of pushback from customers. They have now confirmed that a qualifying period is a full calendar month and that their system is set up incorrectly. They apologised for the previous email and will be correcting my payment. What a waste of time - one phone call (to someone who was quite insistent that I was wrong) and two emails to finally be told that they'd made a mistake!0
