Hi all hope all is well sorry for the long post in advance
Looking to take my son to Florida but he's 5 at the moment so I doubt he'll be able to go on much rides I'm guessing a 1.4m minuim for the big rides?
Does anyone have any suggestions for an ideal age to take him (will probally do a visit to the Paris one 1st to see how he likes it)
Everything seems so expensive to get there and also the park tickets are too, I went with an ex partner in 09 and they did a ticket that included most parks (think it was called an Orlando flex plus ticket?)
We both don't drive so I was thinking of staying on I-Drive to keep the costs down and use the I-Ride trolley and local transport or free shuttles to get around.
Another thing my wife dosn't to the thrill rides so I'm hoping they'll be things to to for her whilst out there (she's plused size so am hoping the plane & at least some of the smaller rides she could do If she wanted)
I've herd of attraction tickets direct being cheaper for tickets then adding them to your package.
Is it better to get things separately like flights and accommodation? Doing a few searches came up with £5k plus for all we wanted (without spending money) so when he's old enough god knows how much it will be lol
Any help appreciated

Lots of things to cover and so much of it will be personal to your group only. Are you going primarily for the theme parks as this will be a major expense. I have visited multiple times with various ages of child/ grandchild and each is entirely different in their expectations and age. Younger children love the characters whilst older children love thrill rides - adults love it all! Mostly!
I would suggest split your questions into separate threads each covering a single topic such as where to stay type and time(of year) flights etc.
My own preference would not be I Drive as it has now become such a long spaced out area and very touristy but up to a point ok for non drivers. This is just a start hopefully once your threads get going you will be able to ask and get answers which will begin to help you make decisions. And yes not an inexpensive trip to be planning but there are savings to be had.0 -
A quick bit of pedentary but.....disneyland is in California, disneyworld is in Florida. Its worth being aware incase you make plans around the wrong park/tickets.For ref I preferred Disneyland to Disneyworld.Live each day like its your last because one day you'll be right2

Years ago we took our son when he was three to enjoy all the younger things/ characters etc. Waited till he was 8 till we went again so he was tall enough for all the rides.
I think you're right to consider the height to get the most out of the park rides.0 -
We waited until our youngest was 8 before heading to the US. We did Disneyland first and then four years(?) later, Disney World.
Disneyland Paris didn't exist then.
I concur with your thinking of Paris first. You can use the public transport easily.
Then start saving for the big one but I would go with Disneyland too but think carefully about where you are going to stay and will need taxis etc. Although I do understand your want/need to stay on I-Drive in Orlando.
You can swap and change being BagPerson so your wife can enjoy some quieter rides with your son (we loved Peter Pan) and you get to do the BIG ONES!!!!!!!

Thanks all for the comments think I'll do my research properly after we've been to the Paris one.
I may even look at going with family/friends so we can just rent a villa as I think you just pay the price of the villa then we can just split the cost and if one of them is willing to drive can hire a car then split the cost again0 -
Son and family just come back from EuroDisney Paris with their girls, 4 and 2. Spent four days there, children kept busy everyday as well as meeting their favourites, Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Elsa0

If you are Disney orientated then my choice would be Florida. There are 4 Disney Parks as well as Universal. I have not been to California so cannot comment but went to France a few years back when there was just one park but nothing to do then other than parks. In Florida there is much to do on down days which I am sure your wife would enjoy and be able to participate in. We have always found private villas are the way to go.0
