2 Factor authentication to access Santander online

Something that has changed for me recently is when I log on to my Santander online account (most of the time I do use the app but occasionally convenient to use pc/laptop) is asking me for a OTP, with no option I can see to make a trusted browser. Is this the same for others?

Same here. And given the only other security is a 5 digit PIN to login, I'm very happy that this is the case!
