Multiple accounts

Are there any other banks like Chase which allow you to easily set up multiple accounts?

I have a Halifax current account (Reward current) and within the app I was able to open a new current (burner) account that I used for switching purposes.

It's in the "products" section of the app. I just ask to open an account. It does state it requires a credit check though
  • I used to have two accounts with Lloyds.

One was for everyday spending, and the other was for bill paying by DDs.

A note of caution though, don't open too many current accounts with one bank in a short timeframe as they don't always take too kindly to it. I made this mistake with TSB in August 2022, they closed the new accounts a couple of days later and they've not let me open another current account since, effectively blocking me from being able to take advantage of their switching offers despite otherwise being eligible for them. I've also been unable to open any new savings accounts with them, depriving me of access to their 6% regular saver as well.

Some banks seem more than happy for you to have multiple accounts with them (Halifax/Bank of Scotland)
Others less happy as @Bridlington1 says above, although I've 3 TSB accounts, two of them on the same profile. They never let me have an overdraft either, until I opened my third account with them. But TSB seem quite weird with unreliable computer systems
I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?

Though I'd say it's still best not to open too many accounts with LBG (or indeed aby single banking group) within a short timeframe, especially if they end up being switched out soon after opening as they have been known to get slightly irritated if you take too many liberties as I found out last year.

Its weird how Lloyds seem to object, but Halifax encourage it, even though its the same group
