What did they quote you for fitting a like coloured wing and a headlight?  What other damage did the highlight?
Got a quote from the repair place the insurance sent it, they’re saying 4200 as bumper, although just chipped, will also need replacing as they said they have to do it all or not do it at all. Insurance will give me 4500 or 3600 if I keep car. Leaning towards paying £600 to get it repaired, rather than taking the 4500 and still having to spend a fair bit more for a new car?

If it really costs £600 to fix, the sensible solution is to take £3600 and the car, pay the £600 and be right back where you were, except you have £3000 to put in a savings account with "New Car Fund" written on it.

Your car as a CAT N is worth probably 75% of one with no disclosed damage, so you end up with a £3000 car that you know is a good runner, plus £3000 in the bank.

Sorry I mean the car is 4200 to fix so if I take the 3600 from the insurance I will be left with an extra 600 to cover repairs. I think if I take the 4500 and don’t salvage the car, I will struggle to find a car same spec for 4500, yes I will get a ‘new’ (secondhand) car, that’s not a Cat N, but it will still cost me a couple of grand at least. Yes if I get mine fixed it will lose resale value, and with the repairs it needs it still has a few other dents (it’s my first car), but to buy another car still doesn’t guarantee resale value as you never know what can happen!
