NOW Broadband - price increased by £3 a month - haggling

Update: Called them again and straightaway without any haggling got the usual £25 a month (after the price increase) offer. So then I asked for a bill credit as I said others had been given one and again straightaway was given a £12 bill credit. So effectively taking me back to the £24 a month we're currently paying, which I've accepted.
Why they (and other providers) make us go through this dance everytime I really don't know as all it achieves is taking up their call centre time and p**ing customers off...I guess they count on enough people not bothering to haggle to make it worthwhile.2
