Where is my water meter?

My water meter is next to the stop tap under the sink. A year ago the water company, Yorkshire Water, sent me a letter because they hadn't had a reading from me since the meter was installed in May 2019, I rang them and gave them the reading and it matched with what they had as a reading so they obviously have a second meter outside the property that reads how much water had being used. My meter is an analogue meter not a smart water meter but they could offer to change it at any time and I would agree to the change of meter.

The meter might be underground outside the building but this, IMO, would be a secondary meter that is reading the water usage so the main water meter will be somewhere between the meter underground and the basement. YW installed mine inside the flat as that is what they do.
