Tv licence email - moved back in with my parents

Hey, I moved back in with my parents earlier in the year. Before that I didn’t need a tv licence (I did the first year living on my own but soon realised that I never watch live tv or iplayer. So I decided not to renew my license. As I wasn’t using it) I disconnected my tv aerial and deleted my iplayer app.
I’ve had to move back in with my parents (they have a license).
Today I got an email to say I’ve been using iplayer (I don’t think I have. I may have logged in on their tv but that’s it as far as I can remember). I’m not too sure what to do. I’ve tried ringing the number they provided but none of the automated options seem right and the online chat won’t let me talk to an assistant.

Do I need to do anything?

Thanks for your help.

Ignore their meaningless email threats, you are living at a licensed address.

I would in fact post that back to them.  "I am now living at a licensed address so do not need a separate license."

If they continue to threaten repeat the above and add "if you continue to harass me I will log a complaint with the authorities".  or something similar.

Have you changed the address on your bbc.co.uk account? It might be as simple as a data match between the address on your account and a non licensed address.

I deleted my account I don’t use it so I thought that would be easier. It may have had my parents/current address on it anyway as I haven’t used it in a long time. I think it’s to do with using the same email address on iplayer and on the tv licence.

Yes, that's exactly how it works.   If you delete your BBC account that should sort it out.   If you need one, create it with a different email address.
