My daughter has asked me whether it's s good idea or not, to put her mobile phone number with her car key in case she loses it. She would not include her address, or reveal it to a finder, and she does have a second key.
Probably not a good idea as mobile phone numbers are trackable.
"Trackable" in what sense? You can't "track" someone merely by knowing their phone number.

If putting name/phone number with the keys, I'd put them in a label where the information can't be easily seen - there are some people out there who it's best to conceal information from.

For free, non-judgemental debt advice, try: Stepchange or National Debtline. Beware fee charging companies with similar names.

My wife lost her keys the other day. There wasn't a phone number with them, but there was a Waitrose tag and a library tag. In  fact we found the keys after a few days, but was wondering if someone had found them and called Waitrose or Bucks Library whether either of those organisations would have contacted us about them.
I found some keys with a Tesco tag on them so took them to my local Tesco. They just said thanks and put them behind the desk. I doubt very much that they bothered to look up the cardholders details and contact them. But, you never know, I could be wrong.

Around 20 years ago the Local tesco did phone me after I dropped my keys with the Clubcard tag attached.

I think I have done this in the past, but currently don't. It seems ok to me but thought it worth checking here what others' opinions are, possible drawbacks etc..?
She could put your phone number on them, that way an honest finder can return them via you and there is some separation if the finder is dishonest.

When working for another supermarket many years ago we'd have asked that the caller drop them into their local store (confirming which that is) and then contact you to advise the keys were going to be there and to bring some ID to collect them.

Its fairly likely when the customer dropped them off in store then the store too would have called us and we'd have repeated the contact attempt as our system wasnt a full CRM and so not good at leaving messages for each other about what actions have been taken etc.
