Download address & phone details and do a lookup?1 -
I seem to remember a 'reverse lookup' directory service existing somewhere, maybe US or Canada, to find the name and address associated with a phone number (landline). Such a thing always exists of course but only available to law enforcement and telecom officials, not the public. My daughter sends her thanks, I showed her the thread. She has no other keys attached to the car key, and had already googled her phone number without result. She was amused by my username, having grown up in Thailand where saying 'ee' before someone's name indicates ridicule, perhaps mild insult. I'd never noticed before....Evolution, not revolution0

She would not include her address, or reveal it to a finder, and she does have a second key.I think I have done this in the past, but currently don't. It seems ok to me but thought it worth checking here what others' opinions are, possible drawbacks etc..?
Lot of Insurance and breakdown companies do lost key tags with an 0800 phone number on them, finder gets a £10 reward you get keys back

I used to have AA ones; there was a fee.

Same as the advice not to programme your home address in your sat nav. Car thief steals your car then proceeds to find out your address. If car was some distance away, high probability you are not at home either.Signature on holiday for two weeks0

My wife lost her keys the other day. There wasn't a phone number with them, but there was a Waitrose tag and a library tag. In fact we found the keys after a few days, but was wondering if someone had found them and called Waitrose or Bucks Library whether either of those organisations would have contacted us about them.

I have a Tile on my keyrings that I can use to either where my keys are or at least where they have been.It uses any one who has the Tile app on their phones as locators as it uses their network to respond.Nothing to do with Tile apart from being a paying customer.0
