I drove, so public transport was irrelevant. It was a general point though - look a bit further afield than just the actual airport.CKhalvashi said:

Think he or she is on about hotel prices.Westin said:How much is “ridiculous”? The Luton Airport site quotes £29.99 in their long stay section for an overnight stay (23h) from 6 July.
Without knowing where the OP is coming from, its hard to give any advice, as I would suggest look at hotels somewhere along the route between home and Luton. Doesnt have to be round the corner from Luton airport, 10 miles away could be acceptable.
I once stayed in Saffron Walden before a Stansted flight, its hardly 100 yards round the corner from the airport but close enough for it to be "nearby".
Saffron Walden isn't ideal though, largely due to the nearest station being Audley End and local contracting disputes between Essex CC and the bus company at the moment.
£85 for a week is reasonable value for airports. If we have to pay commercial rates, it's normally about £55 for 3 days in mid stay (a close walk to the terminal).atlantis187 said:
Is the £29.99 for a weeks parking (do u have a link for this please) as the prices I have seen are all over £85 just for parking for 1 week and around £200 with 1 night hotel at the holiday inn Luton.Westin said:How much is “ridiculous”? Difficult to know how much you as a family will spend without knowing if you are planning to do excursions, go shopping, buy treats etc.
When we have done AI in Turkey in the past any excursion purchases go on to a credit card and the only cash-money is for tips. We just take spare USD/EUR in small denominations and use those when appropriate. Haven’t changed to Lira for years.
I can probably go for the Premier Inn near Luton for 1 night at £92 but the parking quotes are still horrendous.
£200/night is about right for airport hotels, which is why I try to avoid them in general.1 -
Can you park for a week there though? I'd be surprised if there is no time limit as station parking is aimed at passengers who will drive away after a few hours.atlantis187 said:I have found out its free parking for blue badge holders at airport parkway station and then catch the dart train to the airport. I have booked 1 night at premier inn near luton airport for £102
So its worked to about £110 with hotel/parking/ taxi's

Is there not a time limit for parking in a blue badge space?atlantis187 said:I have found out its free parking for blue badge holders at airport parkway station and then catch the dart train to the airport. I have booked 1 night at premier inn near luton airport for £102

According to this site...
https://www.nationalrail.co.uk/stations/luton-airport-parkway/
...Apcoa operate the car park at the train station, and no suggestion here there is a time limit, which strikes me as odd, I suggest the OP confirms there is no time limit - https://www.apcoa.co.uk/parking-in/luton/luton-airport-parkway-station/0 -
Looks like you need to register with APCOA first as a blue badge holder

Has anyone caught the dart train from the parkway car park to the airport and if so can you please tell me is the dart station same side as the car park or do you have to walk all the way round to the entrance?0

What is the best card to use in Turkey including cash withdrawals
I have a Halifax Clarity Card
I have the Revolut App - How do I get a physical card and does this cost?
I also have a chase uk account?
Which is the best from the above or is there any other better ones out there?0 -
I’m fairly sure the blue badge parking scheme at Luton Parkway railway station (or any railway station, shopping complex or car park) is not intended for cheap airport holiday parking. Surely fair play is to allow those with disabilities to use the spaces. That fairness being to share the opportunity to park there, for short need periods not block a space for a lengthy duration whilst on holiday.atlantis187 said:

I've had this confirmed by APCOA now in an email stating there is no time limit for this station and the vehicle can be left as long as we want as long as the permit is still valid.0
