Update: so it seems the supermarket have now discovered that the extra transactions made on my card were to purchase gift cards, this is clearly fraud as I did not purchase these but it's funny how they know my details were used to purchase gift cards but they can't find any other information such as where the purchased gift cards were apparently sent, Hmm 🤔 surely if something was purchased that I did not receive or authorise they should be giving me a refund
It's quite possible the merchant product code identifies them as gift cards
Yes, but if the gift cards were purchased online there would have to be an address present or an email address to where they were being sent to which would not match my address as I did not purchase them
....But you could be sending them to somebody's address as a gift.
Well at least there would be an address and the person who received them could be asked who sent them to them and told they were bought fraudulently with someone else's card, I mean surely whoever bought the cards must have sent them to someone they know as they wouldn't just send them to some random address, also you usually have to have an account with the supermarket market to buy gift cards and my account certainly wasn't used, I'm sorry I just can't understand how the supermarket can't look into all this, I'm over £80 down and they just don't seem bothered

Send to a post office box or one of those dodgy addresses with hundreds of people supposedly living there (like the houses with tonnes of companies registered there for tax evasion purposes). Lots of the online tax scams involve things like buying google play cards or similar - they are applied to accounts which must have an owner and should be traceable you'd have thought!

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Different systems with different search capabilities.
Moreover - even if they did know where they'd be sent, as you're claiming you didn't make the purchase they couldn't tell you.

Supermarket are also not the FBI - they're not going to visit some address and start questioning the people they find there.

If these are fraudulent transaction on your card, then contact your card provider and report them as such.  Be *very* careful you are clear on which ones weren't you (as you have legitimate transactions from the same retailer on the same day).

You could be on to something with the transactions been made to the same company on the same day as my actual transaction as I'm thinking this could have been done by someone who works there so it looked as if the transactions were made by me including the legitimate one, I'm just wondering if I'd never shopped there that day would this have happened, probably not! also my card company are doing absolutely nothing and I've made an official complaint against them

I can't see if you've said so already, but I assume there's no chance of someone else at your address using your card to buy gift cards?
