Yes, even though it's a completely new car I don't know if it is wise to pay the full price upfront and then risk finding the car has some missing features ( eg because of the chip shortage )
Again, paying by debit card offers advantages over bank transfer, in terms of the potential to take advantage of chargeback in the event of any later dispute, and better still to pay a small deposit with a credit card to bring section 75 into the equation too.

It seems unlikely that you'd be able to verify the presence of every single feature during a brief handover anyway, so it would seem prudent to pay in a way that facilitates doing so later on....

Reading more of Barclays terms and conditions even Chaps payments can be halted by their security system.
"We might need to do some checks, so you’ll need to confirm your phone number when you request your payment, in case we need to give you a call. We’ll send your payment when we’ve finished our checks."
The good news is that you can walk into the branch and set up the Chaps several days in advance with the option of cancelling it for £20. So hopefully Barclays won't wait until the payment day to do their checks (though somehow I doubt it !)

I paid by debit card £33k - it just went through with chip and pin, then paid the car tax by card and had to pass security checks :)

The car dealer said if you pay using a card on your phone there is no limit (as far as he knew up to about £50k) so that might be an option.
