It's Monday today and I (think) I've managed 19 NSD so far.
I've not checked in for over a week, it's been a really busy time- birthdays, exams, end of term, Leavers Prom...
I've had 5 quite spendy days this month, all planned for and budgeted for. Spends this week :
Theatre tickets for a birthday treat;
Thank You/.Leaving presents for my son's teachers. They were there for all of us after he had a bit of a mental and emotional wobble during lockdown and we have them to thank for getting him through to the other side and helping him secure an unconditional offer on his chosen course at the university he wanted;
Money given to son for drinks at Prom and taxi home from the pub afterward.
Thank you for the kind messages regarding the prom outfit. To cut a long story short, he found his prom suit, shoes and all accessories in a charity shop. I imagined that when the time came, I'd feel bad that I sent him off to Prom in secondhand gear. I need not have worried, he looked amazing and so damn happy!
I don't know if it how I can post pics here.

Oh @HotDog2020, it takes such courage to share what you have here. It doesn’t sound like your relationship with your mum is particularly positive for you, but you also sound a bit isolated. Maybe expanding your social network would help you feel more secure and dilute the impact of her perceptions of you?Sending hugs xAs at 15.07.25:

@HotDog2020 agreed with @beanie and @KajiKita, it takes real courage to talk about these things. It sounds as though you are really battling some difficult stuff. Back in the day I found therapy hugely useful for dealing with some issues. It does cost, and is a investment in time and patience too, but it can really help with dealing with tricky family relationships (it helped me, anyway). Is it worth considering? Just a thought. xx3

Hello @HotDog2020
Echoing what others have said, it sounds as if you are trying to please everyone else and in doing so, are not focussing on your needs.
Have you thought about doing something just for you- a hobby, interest, or activity? If you're not sure exactly what you'd like to do, perhaps go along to a social meet-up, walking group or open craft group. Your local community Facebook group will likely have details of these, or you could ask at your local library. A quick Google will bring up lists of groups and activities going on near you.
I'm not sure if what your mum insinuated about your weight were meant to be hurtful, but any personal comment like that is bound to sting a bit.
Are you concerned about your health? If you are, there are specialists and support groups who can help with all sorts, from gentle exercise groups for beginners, counselling, dealing with emotional eating etc. Your GP or practice nurse will.have a list of groups you can ring yourself or can refer you if you ask.
If you want an occasional moan, feel free to rant away on this site!
I'd love to hear all about any new hobbies, interests
and social groups you're excited about starting 😊
