Looking for account with passbook showing address

Hello. I am a Virgin Money customer. Unfortunately, they have axed them. Something amazing from their passbooks is that it shows the address they have on file for you.
As the passbook is updated whenever you want, it is akin to a passport but to prove your address, without needing to print bank statements.
Does anyone know of any account that still uses passbooks and shows your address? I don't mind the interest or the perks it might have.
Thank you

Look for a building society local to you, they often have passbook accounts.sleepywater said:Hello. I am a Virgin Money customer. Unfortunately, they have axed them. Something amazing from their passbooks is that it shows the address they have on file for you.

I would doubt that a passbook would be taken as proof. As there is a time limit most companies will take proof of address from any ID.
Which often is in the last 3 months.
Only chance of anyone issuing a passbook would be some of the building societies.Life in the slow lane1 -
This is not quite correct. As long as the passbook has been updated within the last 3 months and it shows some transactions, it is be enough. I have been using Virgin's that way for a long time.born_again said:I would doubt that a passbook would be taken as proof. As above, it's unlikely to be viable to use a passbook for this, but who are you anticipating needing to prove your address to?sleepywater said:As the passbook is updated whenever you want, it is akin to a passport but to prove your address, without needing to print bank statements.0 -
I have been using it for this purpose for many years, and it is often listed as a valid document in the proof of address when needing to prove address. I use it often for the jobcentre, opening accounts, dealing with businesses, etc.eskbanker said:

It really beats having to print a bank statement every single time.1 -
Just because it has been updated is not proof of address, as you may not of informed them👍sleepywater said:

You could literally say the same of bank statements. If you don't update your address at the bank they you are being truthful.born_again said:

When you update your address on the system and your passbook has your address, as a general rule the bank should not just update the transactions. They have to withhold the current one and issue a new one with the new address. That's what VM has been doing so far.0 -
Fair enough - perhaps things have changed but back in the days when I used to have passbook accounts, they'd handle change of address by simply putting a sticker with the new address over the old one!sleepywater said:

When my dad died, my mum took their joint account passbook into branch and they just crossed his name out!1

Co.op & Nationwide both post me a paper monthly statement which would do the trick for you.
