    Yep. Same as always.

We assume you've now done the forum keyword search advised by @Gr1pr and have sussed that nothing will happen and it times out after 6 months, whether you bother with useless POPLA or not.

  • My friend of mine has tried appealing a the same charge using the template appeal, but received the following back from POPLA. What should the next steps be, or should I just tell them to pay?

The motorist has appealed to POPLA on further grounds. The motorist mentions PoFA. This is a Penalty Notice issued on Railway land as a breach of the terms and conditions of parking has occurred, and the motorist has confirmed to us that they are the registered keeper of the vehicle in question and therefore they are liable for this Notice. The appellant questions the signage, the payment app, landowner’s authority and that keeper liability does not apply. As shown above, the payment system was fully functional on the contravention date. Section E f this evidence pack shows signage displayed throughout this location. Section F shows that APCOA are authorised to issued penalty notices at this location on behalf of the landowners. This is a Penalty Notice issued on Railway land as a breach of the terms and conditions of parking has occurred, and the motorist has confirmed to us that they are the registered keeper of the vehicle in question and therefore they are liable for this Notice. The vehicle entered onto private land in full acceptance of the terms of parking clearly displayed. Signage at the site is adequate, and a tariff and terms of parking are given. For the reasons given above, APCOA believe this notice was issued correctly, and should stand.

Tell your friend to just ignore it. Nothing will happen. It's APCOA and they don't litigate. After the debt recovery letters, it will stop.

    You are joking, surely?!

    Literally nobody pays APCOA.

Not quite the same as an old 2024 Airport case though. This new one is about a November or December 2025 'PN' at a railway.

You've posted on your thread where the advice already tells you NOTHING HAPPENS. APCOA never litigate

Also, these railway pseudo 'Penalty Notices' are auto 'timed out' in just 6 months from parking. Obviously they just ignore all this rubbish but that isn't even POPLA's decision yet. That's not "from POPLA"

It's merely the drivel from APCOA and no-one cares if the POPLA appeal fails when the decision comes through next month. Just ignore and let it time out. Spend the £100 on something nice or a meal out for themselves.
