Parking fine - parking eye

Hi I received a PCN from Parking Eye. It is my fault because I didn’t realise it was a pay area as it was at a school and I simply dropped off and worked on the car for a couple of hours it never occurred to me they would charge for parking. Unfortunately 60p charge has turned into a £60 fine. I think they have covered all bases in their small print? I nearly did the same thing this week but luckily we received this fine just before I did so. Any advice would be really helpful. Thanks (Image removed by Forum Team)

It is nit a fine.  Obviously the signage was not clear.  Personally I would jump through their appeal hoops as ,   imo, they might srruggle if they took this to court.

You should show us a redacted picture of the front too, leaving all dates and times showing but no personal data

I wonder why the only hint that that car park might not be free is by the exit rather than by the entry gate?...

  • As soon as I received the fine the following week I did spot signs but only because I was now looking for them - really never occurred to me the week before because I’ve never been charged to park at a school before when dropping off for a club activity. It definitely wasn’t majorly obvious as I entered … feel very stupid and it is so annoying as would have been 60p once they had added their charges

But this is surely a school run by Hertfordshire County Council, therefore not relevant land, they cannot use Parking Eye's dodgy ANPR cameras by law!

Wow yes, it's a state school (thus facilities are provided by the Local Authority) so ANPR should not be used. This isn't private land.

Make a complaint to the Local Authority and to the DVLA that ANPR is being used illegally on a Council owned/provided state school site, which is not 'private land' nor is it housing/parks land so there is no lawful exemption to the ANPR ban that came in with the Deregulation Act 2015.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Are we sure it was an ANPR and not a, so called, MNPR lurker photo?

Perhaps the OP could redact the NTK PCN letter once more, both sides, no personal data , then repost the 2 pictures again, which is why those in post 1 were removed earlier. ?

  • Hi thank you for all your comments. What do the different acronyms stand for?  The first page has a lot of personal details - it says Parking Charge notice at the top. Then Parking Charge Amount £100 discounted to £60 if paid in 14 days and then how to pay the fine. It has photos of my car arrival time and departure time and duration…
