Well just made June payments and we are over half way at the half way point :T

Major money saving since last post:
Switched from AA to Autoaid: Saved £90 (and better cover!)
Shopped around for Car insurance cover, phoned back current supplier: saved £82
Recieved my six free bottles of wine for opening a FD credit card: saved £30?

Also had offer from LTSB on PPI reclaim but not all we are after so still pursuring that . . .

Just wanted to touch base, things going swimmingly for us at the moment. Getting bills paid off that require big payments each month which is freeing up £100s for other bills so that is great. Really starting to make a difference on the spreadsheet! Hope everyone else is still on target.

  • Getting a little confused now as to how i should be calculating this. Is it an £8k reduction in debt or £8k of payments in the year IYSWIM?

If it is payments in the year then it is around £7k!

If it is debt reduction in year then it is £5,120.67 so quite a bit of difference between the 2!

I work my totals out every month based on the debt - ie the amount of debt vs the prev month IYKWIM - that way interest etc is all in IYKWIM! Atthe end of the day figure paying off as much as I can as soon as I can without going spare is the wayto go! Just found out I may be eligible for tax rebate!! Lots of forms to fill in first (of course!!) but hey it will hopefully be worth it!
