Transferring Child Benefit NIC to partner

Options
Just realised with horror that my partner's NIC is seven year's short for state pension so looking into how best to top up.  I registered for child benefit when our children were born (2004 and 2007) and never received any money as my earnings were above the top level, and my NIC was paid from my earnings.

I'd really like to get the six year NIC contributions for my partner - presumably 2007 to 2014 would be the most recent - but (grrr) I just seem to go round and round in circles when following links on HMRC site and can't get through on the phone.

Has anyone successfully claimed retrospectively for NIC to a partner who stayed at home to raise the children even though there was no actual child benefit cash?

Given that HICBC didn't exist until January 2013 that seems highly unlikely.

Maybe ascertain the correct facts first?

On a side note, you must have received the child benefit money, HICBC only started in 2013. Before that your income was irrelevant

Bear in mind that pre-2016 years may not necessarily boost your partners forecast, so even if you get the credits transferred further action may be needed to get up to the maximum,

If you registered for CB then up to 2010 it was Home Responsibility which reduced the number of years needed for State Pension.
Could that be the missing six years?

Have you checked which years are missing?

From 2010  National Insurance credits were given so the years counted for State Pension.
