Apparently the weekend at ours saw lots of torrential deluges and so the water butt benefited. Good thing too as I honestly can't imagine it will be much longer before we see a hosepipe ban.
Peppers forming and lots of flower on those too. Chillies look like they are considering flowering before all that long. Toms all have flower now - better late than never. Cucumbers are producing so much flower that if they all turn to cucumbers we'll be able to start a greengrocers, we've picked out first two "Goldrush" courgettes and the first handful of runner beans last night too. There's a single bean on the dwarf borlottis but more coming too. All good!
On the "bad" front, caterpillars have been at the salad and all my cabbage seedlings got eaten by a slug overnight at the weekend. MrEH reports that he found the slug the next morning (probably too full of cabbages to move far) and gave it a flying lesson over the back fence.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Had to move a couple lavenders today - cut them back to 2 inches above wood to minimise shock and transplanted them with everything crossed they cope.Potted some cuttings in plastic bags just in case.And I’ve got lots and lots of lovely lavender drying in the garage. Smells divine!Lancashire

A shop in town was getting rid of tatty plants and I have two free astilbes, three pretty pinks and a couple of portulas. I've plunged them in water overnight and I'll see what's managed to revive tomorrow. Only the astilbes were seriously dry but even so I have hopes for them.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Hi Cherry we are also devotees of the plant ‘resurrection section’ - have had some wonderful bargains/ results but sometimes a £1 stick is just a £1 stick 🤣
