I re-use all mine where I can for christmas cards and gift tags next year but theres always some that I can't either because the picture isn't right or something.
Before you take them to Tescos or wherever, make sure you've made a note of any change of addresses. I had two this year with either a bit of news about the senders family or they'd moved. I always like to note these things down before I get rid.
I would advise not putting any cards containing addresses in the recycling as you could be putting your family/friends at risk of identity theft.
I usually cut off and chop up any bits of cards that contain addresses etc and then recycle the rest of the card.
I know it's awful to have to think about these things, but you really can't be too careful these days.0 -

Worthwhile buying up huge stocks of ridiculously cheap xmas cards and writing out a load to yourself and taking them in.
I bet £1 in many cheap markets will get you a box of 50.0 -

Did you know that the full electoral roll is available at local libraries if you turn up in person? You get to lift a book of whole areas off the shelf, sit down at a table and go through them at your leisure.
Then there's the published phone book.
And there's a great way to get much more detailed information on people for free ... that I won't mention here as that would be a high risk/easy to instantly do it method.
Which bit of a name/address is such a risk?
Perhaps I missed the point, it's been known.0 -
I'm aware that you can get hold of names and addresses in other ways and I don't think there's a huge risk if you leave these on cards for recycling, but I'm not comfortable exposing other people to this risk so I always remove the details.0

Good tip suemaggie..........thanks.A lot of mine had new addresses where the sender had moved so I got rid of them..........if anyone decided to rout through mine they'd just find the odd christian name.
I know details can be got from electoral rolls but lets not make things too easy for those sort of people.Mary
I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !
