Just noticed something interesting, outfox the market website says switching happening in couple of days, when I login to the app it says will happen in 21 days...... so which to believe :) I'm going on the website for now as that tracks with the switch date I was given.  I've also contacted them to change my DD date so that's in process to so now just waiting. Also need to supply them a ready.

When we switched to Outfox the Market a few years ago the switch happened in a couple of days. They were very quick.

We have been with them since and have never had a problem with their service.

Our smart meters didn't communicate with them for a while so we had to submit monthly meter readings to ensure our bills were accurate. But that has since been sorted and they now receive readings from our meters.

Thanks, good news hopefully.  I have 1 smart meter and 1 non-smart meter, did Outfox the market fit your smart meters as I'm wondering what brand(s) they use as I'm tempted to get my Gas one switched at some point when i can be around for it etc.
Strangely enough, they said they couldn't change my first DD date but would for subsequent ones which I said was fine, logging in online it shows my 1st bill on the date I wanted so will see as maybe they will take one sooner and then one on my chosen date going forward.

I've never really had any issues with any energy suppliers I've been with so far, only issue I've had is EDF bills never seemed to make sense or easy to understand like other companies.  So energy I'm with atm and there bills are straight forward and easy to ready etc, nice colour coded boxes etc.

Outfox the Market bills are very east to understand.

Our meters were installed by BG.

    New Q4 forecast from CI - £1761.

    https://www.cornwall-insight.com/predictions-and-insights-into-the-default-tariff-cap/

July looking like the dip for this year.

That's almost £200 more than July actual df dd cap at £1568, and £70 higher than current Apr £1690 if happens.

And gas spiked another 13% this weekend.

Yes its making our fixed deal at 9% below the current price cap look like it was a good move!

Hopefully prices settle down again by the time we need to renew in May next year.

I am still confused!  I want to fix.. But is it likely after the July 1st lower cap comes in, that some suppliers will offer cheaper fixes than I could sign up to today or is that wishful thinking?
I don't want to sign to a fix now and find I could have got cheaper in a few weeks time... its so complex now!

Fixing isn't about ensuring you get the cheapest price possible; it's about getting a known price for each kWh.

No-one can tell you whether a fix today will be cheaper or more expensive that what you would ultimately pay on the SVT.

There could always be a cheaper fix at some unknown point in the future. There could also be more expensive fixes in the future.

The 1 July cap change will not affect the fixes that are on offer.  It is already confirmed, known about, and priced into all the fixes in the market.

Anything else happening in the wider energy market or changed predictions for what might happen in the future will affect the price of any fixes on offer.  This could happen on 1 July, 10 July, 20 August, or any other day in the duration of your fix.

Just like it always has, and always will.  It is no more complex than any other time.

Ah that makes sense. I was using the Energy Club Calculator and it suggests Outfox the market would be 16% cheaper than my current tariff so I can't lose really. Its the June tariff so I guess its factored in.

    Thank you!
