Hate my Phone-How Can I Change IT?

Options
Hello
I'm on Orange and have a Motorola Dand G Razr thingy-looks great but it is !!!!!! compared to my long gone Sony Ericcson.
My 18 month contract is up in May 08 and I have tried persuading Orange to do me a deal to no avail-I just want a different phone!!!
All help gratefully received and a Merry Christmas to you all!!!

  • You should be eligible for an early upgradem, for a fee tho.

My partners contract was due in June 08 but they let her upgrade early for £50, she has had quite a few pricey bills mind! always worth a try.

    Hope this helps

Yep, you will be eligible for a fee, but that fee will depend on how much your bills are.

If not, buy another one?! There are some v good SE models for under £50, not all singing and dancing ones, but more than adequate.
    Gone ... or have I?

id get into a Orange store, sale now on payg, my choice Orange Berlin @ £49.99, as you will get hit with the £250 upgrade fee then a charge more the new mobile which usually starts at £50 for a basic model & upto full payg retail price, Orange knows how to screw you at early upgrade time - unless you are a Loyal ( read high spending over & out of plan mins texts etc ) customer making them loadsamoney

    PLAN

downgrade current plan to lowest avail

go to Quidco then Orange shop & earn £30

get a new contract added to your account with 180 credit and one of the top of range handsets they are offering just now http://shop.orange.co.uk/shop/show/offer/free_credit_2007, will work out cheaper than upgrade and you'll prob break even with the 180 credit when you PAC your old number out to another networks PAYG and then back into your new Orange contract, if you have a old Orange Payg when you receive your new contract port that payg number across to new contract for 10% off your priceplan when you talk to connections, then port old Orange number in from whatever network payg you ported out too
    :D

thnk £180 offer runs out 31 Dec so act quick

    I got HTC Touch with £180 credit & 10% off for £21.50 a month ! - usually £35

think wisely though Orange disconnections/retentions have POwER like no other dept( I got 2550 x net mins & 3000 txts 18months no handset - £15.00 a month ), could any of the the following payg handsets on sale do you for next 5 months ? http://shop.orange.co.uk/shop/show/offer/jansale_payg?WT.SPclick=jspmpg1

then fight ( nicely ) with retentions come May, I told them I was off to Vodafone £35 500 mins with stop the clock & 3000 texts what could they give me priceplan wise & handset wise that beats my Nokia N95 - they replied 2000 xtra x net mins & £15 off a month - I asked for £20 & got it !!!!, Orange Tokyo & Berlin are awesome phones so consider them - I want one, spent ages instore one day playing with them, pity none of them was Unique compatible !
