  • I misremembered about the cost of eggs from the egg machine. They're 15 eggs for £3.50. I bought two trays today for a total of 30 eggs for £7.00. They're very large too. Hopefully that'll last us a bit. I'm going to the high street today to run errands and I'll pass by M & S later for yoghurt and a couple other items.

    £178.11 / £400.00 spent. £221.89 remaining. £21.89 to last until Friday, June 14.

Another mad weekend (out trading both days) has passed & I'm 'fessing up to £59.17 spent on Friday and another £23.89 today, leaving us £181.51 for the rest of June, with two more "weekly" shops plus small top-ups to go, as payday for us is 28th so technically that's when we go into July. Which leaves us basically more or less on target - so far!

I went shopping with a very careful list this morning and stuck to it apart from not being able to get the size of milk I usually buy because M*rks just can't seem to get their algorithm to work properly.I spent £13.49 on milk, 2x radishes, tomatoes, a 9v battery, salad potatoes, romaine hearts, celery, cucumber and carrots.

That makes my new GC total £73.64/£150 and my average daily spend is now running at £7.36. Oops, I think I'd better have another delve into the freezer to see what I can find to use up for the next few days.

    Good morning All

One small spend to declare:  91p in Sainsbugs for two large, roasting potatoes.

The above brings our June GC spend to £52.91/£162.30, leaving £109.39 for the rest of the month.

@goldfinches your walking group friends must love you.  Those cakes look lovely.

We found an excellent gluten-free bread in Sainsbugs last week for my sister, who has coeliac’s disease.  It’s called “Promise” and is a granary loaf that has the look and feel of regular bread.  You really can’t tell the difference.  (DS and her husband are over from Oz for a few weeks.).

I'll have to look out for that bread - I've always found Warburton's hard to beat. My DD was diagnosed coeliac over 50 years ago & I like to keep some gf bread in the freezer for when she visits. Luckily the bread is much improved from what little was available in the distant past!
