Hi, does anyone know how long to cook liver for? It’s for the dogs puppy class treat as it needs to be a high value treat for recall work. I’ve never cooked it before! Thanks in advance xx3

I didn't keep up with posting during May and whilst I think I came in a little under budget I can't validate that because I didn't post ....so....I will be diligent this month.I've got meals and fresh fruit, veg and milk to last until Tuesday when we'll go to Lidl. I used a £15 off £60 shop for Sains this week but although I shopped carefully I don't think I got great value for money even with the voucher.

And first spend of the month this morning at Mr T's where I carefully calculated which of the various sizes of Fairy non-bio was best value and realised, yet again, that CC prices are not there to help the shopper rather they're designed to help Mr T's profits. I spent £12.40 on washing machine pods, fabric conditioner and a mini bottle of wine for making salad dressing. Then I walked on to M*rks where I spent £7.10 on organic milk, carrots, lettuce, tomatoes and radishes.
That makes my new total £19.50/£150 and I've decided to get the soap I need from Savers when I'm next at that end of town which will be cheaper than buying some vastly expensive and beautifully scented handwash from the supermarket. Has soap vanished in your area too or am I just living in outlier land?"She could squeeze a nickel until the buffalo pooped."

I can’t help you re the availability of soap but I can suggest a tip that I learned here from the Sneaky Ways To Save The Pennies thread: if you have an empty handwash dispenser, refill it with cheap bath foam. I do this with MrT’s Essentials Bath Foam which is 75p for 750ml. It works well and smells innocuous.

Hi @elsiepac,
Please put me down for £250 this month please.
DH is no longer DH so reduced budget quite a lot.
Not sure how much it will actually be for me and DD, I have a lot of food in the freezer/cupboard but also unsure how often EH might be around to see her. All very much up in the air at the moment and definite belt tightening required.
Not that helpful that DD had finally convinced me to let her have school lunches as she often doesn't like her school dinner. I'll go with it this week, but going forward I think it will be a mixture. She still gets free school dinners so if its something I know she'll like I think she's going to be having it.
the change in plans does mean I might revert to a delivered shop to make my life easier and I will want to be all over the batch cooking a bit more!
Off to Lidl shortly so will see how we get on!June Grocery Challenge £0/£250
