Hi
Please put me down for £15 per week. I don't post very often because I no longer pay for internet access at home. I can look at the internet during breaks at work so I do check in regularly but I'm not supposed to post. I'm currently on the smallest of small budgets so I can save in case of redundancy.5 -
Hi @elsiepac.
Apologies, but please amend my June budget to£162.30
Many thanks. We’ve finished shopping for May and have £2.30 to roll over.Ainsty said:Hi

Hi, thank you I do use my phone for a range of internet actions using a cheap sim. Unfortunately, I find it both uncomfortable and difficult to read/write on the small screen. It's just not my thing.5

Have started June already. Needed ribena and lucozade as thats all DH is drinking at the moment, more toilet rolls and lots of cleaning stuff as I am doing much more washing and cleaning right now. Also got some tinned fruit and cereal that I thought DH would like. It came to £71.00 but the sugar was punctured and leaking everywhere so I got money refunded. £68.00 spent already. £3.50 was delivery charge but whilst I am doing the work of 2 i thought it was worth it to save a bit of time. I am doing a couple of craft courses this week so time is quite valuable to me.
Also have taken a good look at my budget compared to others. I know this is my own challenge to make myself accountable but it does annoy me when someone else can do it cheaper! 🤣. I am not competetive or anything! Seeing as I lump all my shopping together in one hit and dont have seperate budgets eg "bulk buys" my annual budget is much the same as others for the two of us. I am a happy bunny. 🐇craft stash 2023 =161, 2024 = 119 2025 = £17.98 spent, 128 made and 5 mended,

Well, I'm going to be brave and try for
£420
for June, please. Basically an "allowance" of £80 per week for 3 adults (2 omnivores, 1 pescatarian) plus 1 (nearly omni, no red meat) for the odd overnight stay. And another £100 for non-perishables & little top-ups. If other family members descend en masse at weekends, any extra expenditure will go under the Family heading! The paydays have worked out so that June is a 4-week month but July is 5.
So, as food bought this morning is for tomorrow onwards, hence in June in my budgetary reckoning, I'm already £35.26 in; £29.16 at the butchers and just £6.10 at W8rose. More - fruit, veg, fish and possibly cheese - at the market tomorrow!Angie - GC Jul 25: £225.85/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)5 -
First spend but it’s just a top up. We are going to Costco at the weekend and I will
Put in a musclefood order as no chicken left.Spent so far £76.644 -
OK I've not done this before but I'm game. I have NO IDEA how much I spend on myself, I know my cats cost me £40 a week and I honestly can't reduce this any further. I'm a low carb eater so I can't fill up on cheap carbs, beans etc. it will be interesting to see if I can get my budget down though. So I'm going for £275 to include the cats (because they eat fresh meat so I can't really separate their bills from mine) and see how far below that I can get
If that turns out to be easy I can lower it next month5 -
Hi @elsiepac can I join please. It’s been a long time since I was here and the food spends have gotten well out of hand. Last month was over £1250. I do feed a lot of people, me and OH 3 kids 2 of which are active teen boys and a 10 year old. I also do the shopping and cooking for my MIL and her partner and host 3~4 students for a few nights a week BUT this can be cut down a lot. I’m going to say:
£800
please as we are away for 1 week on an AI holiday and I’m going to go back to strict budgeting, meal planning and then sticking to only one shop a week instead of daily top up shops! I’m actually feeling excited to regain control again.Mortgage Jan 2025 £67,253 fixed rate 1.44 until March 2026.MFW #24 £350/£5000
March Grocery Challenge £210/£750
EF £1000/£50005 -
Could I please join you all and be put down for £500.
