I had a big supermarket delivery today so now I'm up to £237.36/£250 for the month. I've got enough left for a few bits before the end of the month so it should be fine.

I stopped into M & S yesterday afternoon when I was close to the high street. £12.00 spent on the £8 deli deal and a big block of cheddar.

    £309.72 / £400.00 spent. £90.28 remaining.

I’m currently debating whether I should put in a £50 Tesco order for Sunday/Monday or visit Lidl and M & S for individual items.

Just spent £11.53 @ Lidl, on vegetables, baby potatoes, fat free greek yogurt and cheap blueberries.
I only went in for plain cottage cheese, but it was out of stock.

  • Went to ff to get milk and ice cream for the kids this morning and decided to spend £25 to use the £2 off, didn’t realise I’d been overcharged until got home, so wasn’t happy about that. Also got some tesc sun cream to try as the one we used for years got discontinued and everyone we’ve tried so far the younger two have reacted to, hoping this one is the right one now. Booked shopping delivery for Monday as have enough fresh stuff until then, other than loo roll will hopefully be the last shop in the month for us.

    Good morning All

Just a small shop to declare from yesterday.  £3.95 spent in Sainsbugs on some mixed salad leaves, houmous and cookies to add to the lunch we took to the games club.  5p to go to the money box.

The above brings our total spend to £144.30/£162.30 leaving £18 for the rest of the month.

This should be do-able.  The hardest part (because the weather is so good) will be meal planning.  Dinner tonight was meant to be a slow cooked joint.  Instead, I’ll save that for later in the week and make a potato salad for tonight.  Have to work out the rest of the week.

    Good afternoon all.

I've been so busy that I've put off adding my spends here so have several shopping trips to declare and have a horrible feeling that I've bust the budget as well so here we go.
I spent £11.40 at Waitflower on 6x eggs, tofu, smoked tofu, courgettes and lemon thyme and the Baking Budget picked up a kilogramme of light brown soft sugar for £3 at the same time.
Then I spent £3.37 at M*rks on rolls, a cucumber and a ys dip selection.
Next I spent £18.25 at Sainsby's on mushrooms, a gas cylinder for my sodastr*am, a lemon and 2x goat's cheese.
Then today I have spent £13.06 at Sainsby's on balsamic vinegar, mustard seeds, nori sheets, lettuce and 3x frozen fruit and £6.12 at M*rks on milk, 2x tins tomatoes, 3x ys swede and 3x radishes.

That makes my new GC total £155.84/£150 which is a bit horrifying and I'm going to have to be very creative to get to the end of the month without spending any more money, I've got six days to go so I hope to manage it.

The Baking Budget new total is £11.80/£20 which is slightly more respectable especially as I have some egg whites in the freezer that I was planning to use to make meringues this week so won't need to buy any extra ingredients.

Closing this month slightly under budget £241.30/£250 - but only because the last week is excused as we have no kitchen... separate budget allocated.

Coming back here apologetically after checking through my receipts and having discovered that I'd spent £6 on some Fage yoghurt that was on offer at my local Mr T's last week and £7.90 in M*rks the day after on flour, bread, salad bits and tomatoes.

That makes my new GC total £169.74/£150 which is hair-raising. I will try harder to stay out of the shops next month! I don't know how many times I've typed that sentence, my only consolation is that if I didn't have this thread to keep my eye on the total it would be much worse.

I've been reading the forum posts, but I'm going to stop taking part for a bit. No problems or anything, I've just been getting in a bit of a tizzy and losing track, life has got busy which is no bad thing.  I'm still keeping an eye on grocery spends, and taking inspiration from you lovely people.    Ta ra for now. xx
