MSE News: EE and Plusnet to refund exit fees for some customers

If you took out a broadband, landline, mobile or TV plan with EE or Plusnet since 17 June 2022 but left your contract early and got charged exit fees, you may now be due a refund. Others who are still with EE and Plusnet may also be offered the chance to leave their contracts penalty-free. It comes after the firms failed to give 1.1 million customers key information about their contracts when they signed up.

Question I have on this. I would assume that these terms would also apply if you have recontracted (taken out a new price plan) post this date?
Thanks0 -

ThanksNot necessarily because if you recontract whatever's left of the original contract usually gets wiped, and you get a new set of dates. The article's more about if you were charged and weren't told you were going to be charged in the first place. It may depend on your circumstances.1 -
Hi,
I have just found out about this and would like some advice, I took my contract out in March 2024 with EE through a 3rd party provider and never received any pre-contract information before I signed up. I have asked the company for this information from the time I signed up and they cannot provide me with any evidence that anything was ever sent to me.1 -
Who is the third party provider ? , if you never signed up directly with EE or Plusnet , even if ultimately you were piggybacking on their network ( that even includes signing up through comparison sites ) , then EE /Plusnet have no responsibility towards you , they are a supplier to whoever you did use .0
