It's a Kia eNiro EV 4+ trim. Yes I read that as well, and plan to book service 3 months before the deadline.

Thanks for your comments folks! Found another car with full service history and 27k miles. Only infraction is first service was whole 3 days late!

Below is Kia's website link that suggests 1000 miles or 1 month grace period.

https://used-uk.kia.com/buying-an-approved-car/#:~:text=To maintain your warranty you must service your vehicle in line with the stated inspection and maintenance schedule although there is a one month or 1,000 mile allowance.

Has anyone come across a situation that this grace period was not considered and warranty declined? This third car appears to be very attractive proposition

The only preference for second was the lower mileage (31k vs 39k). Perhaps this difference is not large enough to justify the risk?

For second car, seems like they didn't bother after second year. The last service was actually done by the KIA dealer who is selling the car.
    SECOND CAR (REG Jan 2021):
    1st : 5-1-22 10,857 miles KIA Dealer
    2nd : 4-1-23  20,463 miles KIA dealer
    3rd : 7-5-24 30,795 miles KIA dealer
People getting so hung up over irrelevant differences in mileage is why cars get clocked.

So the most recent service is just four months late. Four. Tolerance - one.
Three months, quarter of a year, over the tolerance.

If each service had been that late - the first service had been 16 months after first reg, the second 32 months, and the third 46 months - it'd be about caught up... except for one completely missed service.

As others have said, no brainer.  Too m any people get hung up on the mileage.  Servicing is a far more important guide to the car.

So the second car looks like it was serviced on time in line with schedule for possibly the first 3 years of ownership. Maybe - car was traded in at 3 years just prior to service date and has maybe been sat at dealership for 3 months? Not sure that KIA would have grounds for voiding warranty if that's the case?

Yes. It's still 3 months late even if not used. Just the same as it was sat on your drive at home.
Of course if it was sat @ a dealer they could stamp the book & date it within the Kia rules...😜

A family member has a 2019 Kia Ceed.

Mileage always within limits but third service was more than 3 months late and following service 2 months overdue.

It recently developed an oil leak and was in for two days for repair at Kia dealership. No charge for the repair under warranty which was done without a murmur from Kia.

Surely a Kia main dealer wouldn't be selling a car that doesn't have a full service history to benefit from a Kia warranty? Have you asked the dealer?

Have you heard that saying "all that glitters may not be gold"?

Being a Kia owner and on kia forums the repairing of cars under warranty - even if accepted as a claim - can take MONTHS

The warranty guidelines are strict for a raeson, to dodge claims....

On the other hand, Skoda fitted a new engine FOC in a car "just" out of warranty on "goodwill" grounds...in just 3 weeks

Common faults om the Sportage :- Synchro, early clutch failure, sunroof not closing, etc, etc
