How do you think the General Election will affect euro currency rates please?  I am going on holiday just after the Election and wondered if I should consider buying currency now?  Any thoughts please?

Why even buy in the first place, and lose a few percent in a needless currency exchange, use a forex free card such as Chase, Monzo or Starling.

As an aside, if anyone knew the answer to your question, they wouldnt be posting it on here, they would be busy making a fortune on the currency markets.

The exchange rate hasn't changed significantly since yesterday's announcement, so there's little reason to suspect that the run up to the GE will impact it, i.e. just carry on and convert as you would have done anyway.  As with the Brexit vote in 2016, if the result is unexpected then that may affect it, but obviously if it's a surprise that would affect the markets then it would be a surprise for the rest of us too, so you'd only win if you felt you knew better than the currency markets!
