What evergreen plants or glimbers keep their leaves even in winter?

OK 'evergreen' means just that -they don't lose their leaves in winter. What plants were they? If they were genuine evergreens and they lost their leaves then there's something going wrong with your soil, your planting technique or the way you are looking after them. truewraith, we probably need to know where you are in the country. Some of the plants suggested above would be pretty bare where I am (above 57 North) through the winter, but lusciously evergreen further south.0
