I dream of a MF home for my plants

  • Thanks skint spice - hope the cat is okay after their plant munching! We only have a dog and she leaves the plants well alone. My plants seem to suffer from not enough light so constantly rearranging around the house. Except for my cheese plant which I managed to burn really badly because the weather was so nice whilst we were away for a week. It’s still looking v sad for itself.

  • Pay day so sent £2000 OP onto small mortgage - balance left £3645, total of both mortgages £179045. Interest to be added before mortgage payment comes out next week. I’ve started a colouring brick house from the September OP -undecided whether it’s motivating or depressing! I’ve stuck it above my desk for now - let’s see how long it lasts! Working today and hoping to get out for a run at some point later. Eldest goes back to uni this weekend so the next few days will be full of taxiing duties and getting their room cleaned once all their stuff has been shifted.

Had a great weekend - fairly spendy but managed to spend time with all 3 of my kids doing stuff for them. Took eldest back to Uni - they seem happy to be back with their friends after a summer mainly spent working. Had a takeout with middle child sat tea - this is one of the few ways we spend time together as they are out working irregular shifts so we miss each other a lot. Treated youngest to a day out with one of their friends. And got my nails done. All in all £141 spent but all from my little savings I keep separate from family money. I still have just over £900 in there and will try and top up next month.
Have cut more dead leaves off the cheese plant. Any more turn brown I think it’s a gonna. I was doing so well with it up until I wasn’t!
Not much expensive stuff in the next couple of weeks. I have a hair apt coming up and have cash out already for that. Still need to sort car insurance but happily avoiding that for now. I did so well to get quotes a couple of weeks ago but now need to restart again.
The rain hasn’t stopped for days. Off out for a run in a bit which can’t be avoided as I have a half marathon already paid for this year which I’m hoping to fit enough to hobble around. It’s been a long time since I ran that far but the training has been mostly enjoyable so far. Except the endless getting wet in the rain!

I don’t mind the rain too much, just when it’s combined with wind it’s awful!

  • Agreed. I have no issue running in the rain, but the wind yesterday morning had me feeling I was just jogging on the spot!

  • Mondays run was a wet but fun one. Agree with you skint spice and south coast the wind is the worst. I once ran the Conway half in the worst wind and rain - I thought I was going to get blown off the great orme! Trying to motivate myself to get my day started. Really struggling to be motivated with work - worked out I’ve been working for 33 years since my first weekend job. I’m not sure why I’m finding it so hard to get through the days at the moment. I’m going to plan on a mid day jog to break up the hours in front of the screen in meetings today. Having relatively cheap week though did spend £10.50 on a bottle of wine yesterday which is now contributing to my difficulty getting up for work!

  • Well it took until early pm to feel human again. The run helped at lunchtime. Mortgage payment and interest for this month is showing on bank acc so can update signature with that. Have stuck to meal plan this week so fridge is now pretty empty. OH bought snacks in for later so M&Ms for me in front of the tele. Planning on getting some bulbs for the garden either after work tomorrow or on sat. Was hoping to go tonight but ended up working late to make up time for run earlier.  Hoping to find cheap bulbs at the local B and M & avoiding are expensive but lovely garden centre. It’s one of a chain of garden centres so you end up buying all sorts of crap when you go. Well I do!
