Stoozing in 2025...

  • I started about 14 months ago, currently with three cards and £23k. Just secured a new 0% BT card (Santander 12 month fee free). Most of my existing card deals end in May 25, and if savings rates are low then I may not make an effort to try to continue them.
I too have taken advantage of the Santander 0% BT & 0% BT fee card. The one advantage of this card over the NatWest equivalent is that you can continue to BT during the 12 months with 0% fee.
If you believe you can, you will. If you believe you can't, you won't.

    Secured/Unsecured loans x 1
    Credit Cards x 8 (total limit £55,050)
Creation FS Retail Account x 1
    Creation Credit Sale 0% x 1 = £112.50pm x 20 mths
    0% Overdraft x 1 (£0 / £250)
    Mortgage Outstanding - £137,707.00 (Payment 13/360)
    Total Debt = £7,400 (0%APR) @ £100pm - Stoozing

I'm up to £18k at the moment but have no more fee free 0% BT cards to use, I have the Santander everyday, Natwest and BCard. These run out May and Dec next year. All the funds are in cash ISAs earning 5.25 and 5.17%. Also funding the repayments through income.
DH has a zero tolerance for debt so is much less comfortable with stoozing. He'd rather pay off our 0.99% mortgage but I've managed to convince him to save in the above ISAs until the fix is up.
  • Do others find that they get better 0% BT offers from existing cards as Christmas approaches?
It's not something I've made a note of before but last year I got 12 month 0% offers from BoS and MBNA, I can't remember the transfer fee but it was worth doing. This year I've been offered 20 months at 0% for a 3% fee by MBNA.
I've not been offered anything by Barclaycard for a couple of years now so must no longer fit their marketing strategy

Sadly not for me this year, I am failing on eligibility for new cards following house purchase/move.

I've got £2,000 which I can transfer to Lloyds for 3% fee (or pay it off from my Santander Edge Saver at 6%) and currently have nearly £10,000 with NatWest.

Am thinking of closing my Barclaycard, thinking I might be able to get something from them towards the end of 2025.
