Right, £8.77 went in waitrose today (I was feeling too tired to walk the extra distance to aldi), £6.64 in Boots on OHs nicotine patches, and £8.00 in Wilcos on assorted toiletries and a cheesegrater. And 50p on a couple of baby vests in the charity shop. So £23.91 altogether today and have about £20 to last me till the 10th Jan. Once again, there was no bread left on the shelves in the store! Entire shop for the day - 2 x fresh chickens at a total cost of £4. Signature update, guess I'll be making more soup and baking bread this weekendI reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Hi all,
Hope everyone is well
I have spent £39.05, not good when my budget is £75 for the month, however in my defence.......
1. My freezer is now soooooo full, i may have to borrow space in my mum's freezer !!
2. The only things left to buy for rest of the month are fruit and veg and rabbit food.
3. Determined not to buy toiletries as got loads for xmas and sure to get more for my birthday this month.
4. Free meals at work, lunch and dinner, so that's 13 out of the 27 remaining days counted for.
And my tea tonight is cheese, onion and mushroom omelette - cheese and mushrooms need using up and eggs were free from the hens at work - BonusSPC 18 Target £200 /0 -
Today's shopping extravaganza was located in the highly delightful aisles of Sainsbury's :rotfl: :rotfl: .
Spent £10.41 on the bits I couldn't get anywhere else and have now finished my "big" shop......only thing is that I forgot I needed extra spuds  as my SIL is coming for sunday lunch.
Will try and send DH out later/tomorrow for those (if he goes, he pays, bless him, so that protects my budget - sneaky or what?)0 -
 I will not dwell on the £33.22 just added for the meal out.......pleased we don't go as often now, used to spend more than that (I don't know how much really as we didn't used to add it up but had more drinks and food than we did today) weekly going out for dinner, no wonder I was always skint and earned more nectar points in Brewer's Fayre than SainsburysOne day I might be more organised...........

Oh dear. Been out today to get some dog food - I'm sure it s more expensive to feed them than us!! Over £20 for 16 pouches and 12 cans. Seems a lot to me. Think they will be eating cheap food like us soon!!!!
Also got 4 packs of herbs each reduced to 20p to freeze to add to pizzas and casseroles etc. Some baby corn and broccoli to bulk up our stir fry we had for tea. and also 2 reduced curries to freeze for a treat next Friday night
Anway I sat down and wrote a list of everythin in my freezer and thinking about it by using up ingredients in my cupboards too we can possibly (POSSIBLY!!) go a week without shopping!Dream of being mortgage free....

Right now i would love to have a go at this.
Since its my 1st month i suppose i had better base it off what i usually spend each week/ month which is about £60- £70 a week.
Theres 5 of us. H and i plus 3 boys 17,12 and 8. 1 Dog and a rabbit
So say £260 for the month. But cupboards are fairly full and so is my freezer
All i have spent so far this month is £1.29 for 4 pints of milk.furrypig says:my name is Choccy and I am addicted to nose free stamps as I want to save them all and give them noses!!!:rotfl:
About me. Im Choccy or Chocolate orange depending on where i am.Yes occasionally i am a total looon who spends too long online, but no where near as much £ as her spendy elves do ..:D0 -
dawnylou I changed my dogs food, I was thinking they were fussy until I was told by someone 'Stop being soft, the only one making them fussy is you!!!' they lasted a couple of days without eating, now are fine with the much cheaper dried food which I moisten for them. Probably cost me 1/4 what they used to do, no longer bullied by my pets
Fish will eat whatever they are given, they love a few peas for a treat. Hedgehog tries to be fussy but doesn't get away with it, same with the lizard.
One day I might be more organised...........

Oh yes! I think i will buy one outfit at most. Not knowing if it is a girl or boy is a very good way to curb the spending on outfits too.
Going to concentrate on essentials like a cot mattress, and stuff for my hospital bag like breast pads and maternity towels (oh joy!). I would like a dressing gown and nightie as well. And slippers. These aren't essential but would make me feel more comfortable I think. Don't bother with them at home, I sleep starkers and just get dressed when I wake up.
My friend is dropping round loads of baby stuff today including a moses basket, sheeets, blankets, clothes and winnie the pooh mobile, so i will get a fix of baby stuff later on. Can't wait!
When are you due JoJo?
My DS was born in June and he wore little more than a vest for his first 3 months, DD was born in Sept and had drawer-fulls of newborn / 0-3 stuff. She still has twice as many clothes as him but thats girls for you.0
