Will someone please close the Coop where I live :o stop me 'popping in' actually I spent under £10 and got lots, lots of reduced things :D but I didn't need it now, so still felt rather cross with myself.

Other than that not going too badly, my month also finishes on the 27th, I mainly work on 4 week months but my partner is weekly paid and other income is 4 weekly. Occasional 5 week month like March but that month I do have 2 extra payments coming in so not too bad.

Angel, most milk says to keep in the fridge, but I just ignore the labels. Maybe try it with one and see if it's ok....or just a cup full if you are concerned about wasting it

I've never managed to get 'free yeast' but it does usually freeze ok so tend to buy in bulk if I want to use fresh, I freeze it in icecube trays so it's in usable amounts, then once frozen knock them out and put them in a freezer bag, take them out as I need them. Just have to remind DP to be careful when he's looking for ice....fizzy pop with extra yeast anyone...
One day I might be more organised...........

"oldMcDonald. I went to my local asda and asked for some fresh yeast and they said all their bakery stuff is cooked from frozen and they didn't have any. The asda I went to is quite small, I shall ask at the larger one next time I go. I have just been to morrisons and meant to ask there but i forgot!!!"

Tattycath, I know for sure, that Morrisons sell fresh yeast (If they have it in stock lol!) Don't bother asking the bakery, as they will just point you to the fridge! :rotfl:
Our Morrisions hasn't had fresh yeast on their shelfs for the last two weeks!

    Evening everyone...

Well the fritatta for dinner was a hit with hubby :j ..the things a girl will do not to have to go to the supermarket :rotfl: ... and it used up some odds n sods so thats a good thing.. I have come to the conclusion that hubby always loves the stuff i make up as i go along :p

Im toying with putting shopping off for 1 more day :p ..well i have a couple of pieces of HM steak n mushroom pie in the freezer, a couple of pieces of HM savoury meat pie and the last of the HM sausages...and loads of veg etc that i blanched and froze ....so technically all i NEED tomorrow is milk.... so i may just get hubby to pick a carton up ;) .

When i do go shopping i need to pick up the things to re-stock hubbies soup supplies in the freezer :rotfl: he has put in a request for:-
    • chicken and sweetcorn
    • spicy goulash soup
    • and broccoli soup
Still i will make a decent sized batch of each and that will be him happy for a few more weeks :T

I think i have actually broken my awful habbit of stock piling everything..i still have stuff like bread flour etc from the UK.. but i now no longer buy stuff because it is on offer... i figure other stuff will be on offer when i need something..

keep up the good work everyone:j

Strange but my hubby says that mince tastes funny in the slow cooker as well (no illnesses at the time for him me thinks), I have highly advanced senses (!!) and I can't taste anything different, if anything it tastes better very odd?????

    Hi there lil_me

I don't generally follow a recipe, but when i make them -either tomorrow or wednesday i will get the scales out and make a note of what quantities i use and then post them for you...
The goulash is one i made up as i went along, and the chicken and sweetcorn 1 was in an oriental cook book I have -but i then altered it to be a lot cheaper ;)

better make a note and stick it in the kitchen or i will forget :p
